About this trip

Join us on our next trip to the Georgia Aquarium to dive with the Gentle Giants! This is a great experience for divers and non-divers alike. We will be diving on Saturday, December 19, 2026 at 3 p.m. You will have the opportunity to dive with a Whale Shark, Giant Manta Ray, Turtles, and so many more beautiful sea creatures. This trip Includes equipment, 30-minute dive, T-shirt, and digital photo. General Admission is also included andwill give you access to the aquarium when it opens that morning. This gives the opportunity to explore the whole aquarium in the morning and early afternoon before you check in for your dive. There is a $200 deposit due to hold your reservation for this trip.

Our pricing for the General Admission Ticket is same day and anytime during that day starting when the aquarium opens in the morning.

What is the minimum age to dive?

Divers must be 12 years old and older.

When should I arrive for my program?

We HIGHLY recommend you arrive at Georgia Aquarium at least 1 hour prior to allow time for parking, security, and check-in. Participants must check-in at least 30 minutes BEFORE their event at the Animal Interaction Desk on the second floor, located above the gift shop. Late arrivals will not be able to participate in the program, so please arrive early.

What equipment is included in the scuba dive program?

Georgia Aquarium will provide all the gear you will use: a mask, fins, tank, buoyancy device, regulator, weights, wetsuit, gloves, and booties – just bring a swimsuit, your certification card, and your enthusiasm!

Note: Personal masks and dive computers are permitted but must be disinfected by staff before use. No other personal dive equipment is permitted.

Can I bring my own mask?

Yes. Personal masks and snorkels are permitted but must be disinfected prior to your experience.

What should I bring with me?

All you will need to bring is your swimsuit, proof of open water certification from a nationally or internationally recognized organization and photo identification. Georgia Aquarium supplies all needed dive equipment and changing rooms with showers, lockers and towels. Personal masks and dive computers are permitted but must be disinfected by staff before use. Please do not bring any other equipment and refrain from wearing jewelry, excessive makeup or hair products.

Can I take my own photos or videos?

Cameras are permitted on deck before and after your experience but not in the water. Friends and family may take photos of you from the tunnel or main gallery window while you are participating in the experience. A digital souvenir photo is included and a video that highlights the program will be available for purchase following your program.

Will there be a guide in the water with me?

Yes. Three professional divers will be in the water with you at all times during the guided tour. Dive team members are certified in CPR, first aid, and in providing emergency oxygen.

Can I touch or pet the animals?

No. The dive is for observation only. Participants are not allowed to touch the animals.

What's included

General Admission Ticket

Diver's will receive a general admission ticket as a part of the diver price. Additional tickets can be purchased through Smoky Mountain DIvers.

Scuba Equipment

The GA Aquarium will be furnishing all gear needed for scuba diving activities. You are only allowed to bring your personal mask and dive computer (subject to change).

30-minute Scuba Dive

Our dive time is 30 minutes and we will be led around the tank by GA Aquarium Dive Leaders.

GA Aquarium T-Shirt

Digital Photo

Everyone will receive a digital photo from the dive.

Dive Video

Smoky Mountain Divers will be purchasing a group video for our participants.

Room Arrangements

Not required for this trip, but if you want to stay overnite it is not included in the trip price.

Travel Arrangements

All participants are responsible for getting to and from the GA Aquarium.

Food

Food is available at the GA Aquarium, but is not a part of the trip price.

Smoky Mountain Divers, Inc was founded in 1980 to service scuba divers in East Tennessee. SMD is a PADI 5 Star IDC dive shop. We specialize in training, gear sales and servicing, and travel both international and domestic. We travel all over the world and we hope you will join us on our adventures.
